Two New Phones Coming To Virgin Mobile – Updated

Virgin Mobile has been a great prepaid cellular provider for me over the past year. I have been using their Optimus V and after Cyanogen-mod and a few tweaks it has been working perfectly for me. Now, just after the announcement of the removal of grandfathered plans, Virgin is releasing two new phones into their prepaid market. The LG Optimus Elite and the HTC EVO V 3D.

UPDATE #2 – 8/13/2012: I just ordered the HTC EVO V 3D! I will soon post a review, a guide to rooting, and a guide to installing a custom ROM! Just bookmark, subscribe to email updates, or follow our social networks to be informed when the new HTC articles are published!

UPDATE #3 – 8/27/2012: I got the phone the other day, you can now check out my first impressions.

Virgin Mobile’s latest release into the market was the Motorola Triumph. It looks like a great phone but after much research on the Internet you can see that there are many bugs and defects with the product that just don’t seem to make it worth purchasing.

Now it looks like they upgraded their Optimus V to an Optimus Elite and added an awesome looking HTC phone to their collection.

LG Optimus Elite

The LG Optimus Elite looks like a nice phone, although it isn’t as powerful as the Triumph or the HTC EVO it still is more powerful than the LG Optimus V and isn’t priced much higher.

Both of these phone look amazing. I really want to upgrade my Optimus V to the new HTC one this summer. The only downside is that I would loose my $25 a month grandfathered plan and I would have to pay the $35 a month. Aside from that, these phone will make an already great pre-paid phone company all so much better! Stay tuned for more updates, especially for the HTC Evo. Hopefully Virgin Mobile will confirm this one for us.

So, are you going to upgrade to one of these, what’s your opinion on Virgin Mobile? Please share in the comments!
